The last shreds of honor or integrity just to get elected how would things be different if senator obama had only agreed to get elected how would things be sellingout the town.

The town hall meetings were supposed to favor McCain. But now McCain has effectively cut himself off from public questioning and public opinion, and he avoiding the debates whenever possible (he’s only had two press sessions since August 14th for a total of 20 minutes). He’s trying to see if he can coast into the White House on his record (as bad as it may be) without sticking his foot in his mouth. Same thing with Palin, few and then carefully cloistered and vetted appearances.
